Step In Jacket

The Step In Jacket is a popular style with cold water divers for many reasons including it’s warmth and versatility. The jacket covers the arms and torso and the step in style covers the thighs. It can be worn on its own in warmer conditions, keeping the upper body warm while offering good freedom of movement for the legs. It is commonly worn over a Farmer John and/or with a Hood with Cold Water Bib to add additional layers of insulation for colder conditions.

The Jacket has Raglan sleeves with pre-bent elbows, and zippers can be in straight, diagonal or side zipper configurations.

Our dive suits are made with durable dive-grade neoprene that has better “memory” than other types of neoprene, meaning it will resume its thickness even after being compressed many times at dive depths. All seams are glued & blind stitched for durability and have Lycra bindings for flexibility. The jacket is available in various thicknesses and have non-corrosive Vislon zippers with interior flaps underneath to prevent water from entering. An interior key pocket comes standard.

This jacket is custom-fit to your measurements for maximum warmth and comfort. All JMJ wetsuits are made to last and keep you warm for many dives to come.

Measuring Instructions

  1. Take your measurements using a cloth measuring tape and write them down. Have someone measure you if possible, otherwise you can measure yourself.

Chest: the largest circumference around your chest - usually around nipple line. Measuree should lift arms out to side, place tape around chest, then lower arms to side. Make sure tape stays level around the back.

Waist: the smallest circumference between your chest and buttocks; not where you would measure the waist for a pair of pants, but normally a couple of inches higher, just below the base of the rib cage. If your waist is larger than chest or buttocks, take largest circumference of waist area.

Hips: The widest circumference of your lower hips. Be sure to keep the measuring tape level.

  2. Find your size on the chart starting with the Chest, then find the best size matching your Height, Waist and Hips
